Free Accommodation & Flights.
Accommodation and flights are usually the most costly part of the trip........ (beer is also one of my largest expenses!!!)
But how do we either reduce or eliminate these? Accommodation: 1. Home Exchange (see the link to the right) is a website where you can basically swap houses with other people from all over the world. You list your house and when you would like to swap houses, then you search to find people who want to swap. If you can be a little flexible about when and where you go this can be a great option to reduce or eliminate accommodation costs. I think a lot of people maybe concerned about having a stranger in their house... but really they are not strangers .... just friends you have not met yet!!! 2. Trusted House Sitters. If you are looking for somewhere to stay and you like animals you might want to consider TrustedHouseSitters.com where you look after the owners animals while they are away in exchange for free accommodation. 3. WWOOFers....... Whatters you might ask..... Willing Workers On Organic Farms. Here you exchange your board for your keep. WWOOFers usually work for between 4 to 6 hours per day on a farm in exchange for meals and accommodation. Its a great way to get off the beaten track and actually experience the country and people you are visiting. There are WWOOF networks all over the work including Asia, Africa, The Americas, Australia & Europe. So if working on a tofu farm in Togo West Africa is what you want to experience this is a great way to do it..... yes I know is made out of soya beans. |
